How to Care for Heavyweight Cotton Streetwear

Heavyweight cotton is the backbone of SupremX — 260 to 340 g/m² fabrics that drape properly and last for years. But premium fabric deserves premium care. Here is how to keep your pieces looking like day one.

1. Wash cold, wash less

Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle, always inside-out. Heavyweight cotton does not need frequent washing — airing a tee or hoodie overnight is often enough between wears. Less washing means prints stay sharp and fabric stays dense.

2. Protect the print and embroidery

Turn garments inside-out before washing and ironing. Never iron directly over a print or the eagle embroidery — use low heat on the reverse side. Skip the bleach entirely.

3. Dry with patience

Hang dry or tumble dry on low. High heat is the number one cause of shrinking and cracked prints. Heavyweight fabrics hold their structure best when dried flat or hanging.

4. Vintage washes are meant to evolve

Pieces like our Sunfade Vintage Washed Tee and Mineral Wash Shorts are designed to fade uniquely over time — that is the character of the garment, not a defect. No two pieces age the same way.

5. Storage

Fold heavy tees and sweatpants instead of hanging them long-term — hangers can stretch the shoulders of heavyweight knits. Hoodies and jackets can hang on wide hangers.

Treat them right, and these pieces will outlast fast fashion many times over. That is the point.
